Director Message

BC Cell in Osmania University for the benefit of BC students, research scholars and employees (both teaching and non- teaching). This particular Cell will monitor the reservations, welfare measures and address the grievances of the students, research scholars and staff of the Osmania University Campus Colleges, Constituent and Affiliated Colleges.

Vision & Mission of the B.C. Cell

• To enhance equal opportunities for education of Backward Classes Welfares
• To aware the BC students regarding various scholarships program of State Government and UGC.
• To ensure protection and reservation as provided in the constitution of India.
• To provide assistance to the BC students through counselling, personality development, development of communication skill and preparatory classes for professional and employment purposes etc.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

Aims of the Cell

The BC/OBC Cell has been constituted with the following objectives.

• To cater to the educational needs of the students of BC/OBC communities and bridge the gap of lack of awareness in various available schemes and circulate information on Scholarships, Endowments and other Financial Assistance available for them from Central, State and Local Governments and other funding agencies.
• There are different types of financial assistance available for BC/OBC students. lt is the responsibility of the cell to collect the details and circulate it among the OBC students
• To Arrange for Counselling Sessions, Orientation Programs and Career Guidance Programs.
• To provide Training for various Competitive Examinations for entry into Government and Private services for the students of BC/OBC communities.

Objectives of the B.C. Cell

• The main objective of the B.C. Cell is to promote academic excellence, scientific temper and competitive spirit among the B.C. students and research scholars in Osmania University.
• To promote social justice and equity; and to protect legitimate rights of the B.C. students, research scholars, teaching and non-teaching staff.
• The BC/OBC Cell is established to provide assistance to the students belonging to BC and OBC communities to overcome their socioeconomic inequity and enable them to successfully complete their UG Course and prepare for Higher Education or Employment.
