He received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (1989), master's degree in Production Engineering (1995), and a doctorate degree in Mechanical Engineering (2003) from Osmania University. He started his career in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Osmania University as a Lecturer in 1991, was promoted to Associate Professor in 1997, and became a Professor in 2005, a position he continues to hold. He was also the Convener of TS PGECET-2021. Prior to joining the University, he served as a Technical Assistant at District Industries Centre, Warangal, Govt. of A.P. in 1990.
Prof. Laxminarayana has over thirty years of teaching, research, and administrative experience. He is a member of various boards and committees of the University.He has published about 110 research papers in various International and National Journals and Conferences. He has guided several PG and Ph.D. scholars in the field of Mechanical Engineering.
As the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Osmania University, he introduced the CBCS & AICTE Model curriculum and revised the scheme of Instruction & Syllabus for UG & PG courses in the Faculty of Engineering at Osmania University.
Recognizing his rich teaching experience, he was appointed as a Member of the Telangana State Council for Higher Education, Govt. of Telangana.
He has held several administrative positions including Director, District PG Colleges; Director, Regional Centre for Urban and Environmental Studies; Head, Dept of Mechanical Engineering; Chairman, Boards of Studies of Mechanical Engineering; Dean, Students Affairs (University Level); Special Officer, Alumni Association of Osmania University; Vice-Principal, University College of Technology; NSS Programme Officer; Convener TS PGECET-2021 (Telangana State level); Member of Board of Studiesboth at Osmania University and JNTU; and Member, Assessment of DRDO, India as a subject expert.
He is a senior member of The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS) (USA), Indian Society of Mechanical Engineers (ISME), Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), Institution of Engineers (India), IACIS, OGA, OUAA, and OUCE.
He visited several universities, such as, University of Washington, Harvard University, Columbia University, West Virginia University, etc. in USA for academic and research purpose. He also visited Canada and UAE.
He assumed the charge as the Registrar of Osmania University on 26.05.2021.
